Chelsea set to let Aubameyang go

Chelsea is considering offloading Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the upcoming summer transfer window in a bid to reduce their wage bill.

The Premier League club had signed the former Arsenal striker from Barcelona on a two-year deal last summer, with Marcos Alonso heading in the opposite direction after his contract was terminated.

Aubameyang struggles

Aubameyang, who has struggled to find his form this season, has scored only three goals in 21 appearances for Chelsea. It is believed that the club is willing to let him go on a free transfer, with Barcelona being the most likely destination for the striker.

Barcelona, who are looking for an understudy to Robert Lewandowski, had previously turned to Memphis Depay for that role.

Aubameyang to Barca?

However, the Dutchman joined Atletico Madrid during the January transfer window, leaving a vacancy in the Catalan club’s squad. Aubameyang could be a viable option for Barcelona as they seek to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new season.
