Hussein Mohamed shocked many when he announced, during a midnight interview on Citizen Television, that he will be leaving the station after many years of service. Though the reason for his departure was not revealed, sources said that he was dissatisfied with how the station’s management handled the August General Elections campaign. The station is owned by SK Macharia, a close friend of ODM leader Raila Amolo Odinga. According to other sources, Hussein Mohamed still declined a contract extension worth Ksh1 million.

Where is Hussein Mohamed working?

Hussein was offered a job in 2022 by UDA party leader and presidential candidate at the time, William Ruto, after leaving Citizen Television. His salary at the time was not disclosed to the public.
