Diamond on The Billionaires List, Making Sh113.5 Million Per Month From YouTube!

Diamond Platinumz, a Bongo Flavour musician, is the highest-earning YouTube artist from East Africa, with a monthly revenue of Kenya shillings 113 million.

Diamond reportedly makes this money from his YouTube channel, which has 8 million subscribers, according to the Africa Facts Zone website.

Diamond has amassed over 2.17 billion views on YouTube, making him the most-watched musician from south of the sub-Saharan Desert.

Aside from YouTube, Diamond reportedly charges $100,000, or TZS 236.5 million, for sponsorships and makes an additional $30,000, or TZS 70.9 million, each month from ambassadorial arrangements, according to Africa Facts Zone.

Diamond reportedly owns 11 homes, a hotel, radio and television stations, as well as land holdings valued at $771,000, or roughly TZS 1.8 billion.

Diamond has won numerous international honours since his music debut in 2009, including those from Channel O, MTV, Soundcity, Headies, Afrima, Kora, AEA, EAUSA, the HiPipo Music honours, and more. He is the only Tanzanian musician to achieve this level of success in 10 years because of his landmark achievements.

Diamond now holds the record for the most Kilimanjaro Tanzania Music trophies (KTMA) won in a single night with seven in 2014. Alikiba came in second with five trophies in 2015, representing 20% of all awards given out in 2011.

He was nominated for the Best International Act category of the BET Awards for the first time as a Tanzanian artist in 2014, 2016, and 2021, making him the only Tanzanian artist to receive multiple nominations.

Diamond has earned more domestic and international honours over his 13-year music career with Bongo Flava than Lady Jaydee, who has received more than 35.

Three albums—”Kamwambie” (2010), “Lala Salama” (2012), “A Boy From Tandale” (2018), and an Extended Playlist (EP) called “First of All” (2022)—have been released by Diamond Platnumz during this time.
