Amerix stirs controversy with his advice to parents

Eric Amerix Amunga, a well-known reproductive medical specialist, fat loss coach, and social media influencer based in Western Kenya, has sparked a heated debate with his recent comments on teenage relationships and social skills.

In a series of posts on his social media accounts, Amerix encouraged parents to encourage their teenage sons to interact with teenage girls and to allow their girls to be talked to by boys.

Amerix encourages Interactions

He argued that such interactions were essential for developing healthy social skills and preparing young people for adult relationships.

“A mobile phone (or a TV) is not a human being,” Amerix wrote. “Our children need to learn how to communicate face-to-face, how to respect others, and how to express their emotions in a healthy way. We can’t raise socially awkward children just because of wokeism, retarded religion & virtue signaling.”

While some parents and experts agreed with Amerix’s emphasis on social skills and communication, many criticized his choice of words and his apparent disregard for the risks of teenage relationships, including unwanted pregnancy, sexually transmitted infections, and emotional trauma.

“Encouraging teenage boys to interact with girls is fine, but we also need to teach them about consent, respect, and responsibility,” said one of the followers. “We can’t ignore the fact that many girls are pressured or forced into sexual relationships by boys who don’t understand or care about their rights or health.”

Others pointed out that Amerix’s comments could be seen as promoting heteronormativity and gender stereotypes, and that parents should respect their children’s autonomy and preferences when it comes to relationships and socializing.

“As a parent, my job is not to force my children into specific gender roles or sexual orientations, but to support them in finding their own path and respecting others,” said another commenter. “We should encourage healthy relationships and communication, but we should also acknowledge that there are many ways to be happy and fulfilled in life.”

Amerix comment reflection

The controversy surrounding Amerix’s comments reflects broader debates about parenting, gender, and socialization in a rapidly changing world.

While many parents and experts agree on the importance of teaching children social skills and communication, there is ongoing discussion about how to balance tradition and modernity, safety and freedom, and respect for diversity and common values.
