Nimepigwa Vibaya! Bishop Margaret Wanjiru Mocks Church Demolition
- Prominent evangelist Margaret Wanjiru has accused government authorities of arranging the demolition of her church, Jesus is Alive Ministries.
- Wanjiru expressed anger with the Kenya Kwanza government for supposedly abandoning her despite her active participation in the previous general election.
- Margaret Wanjiru reported injuries during the event on Wednesday, February 6, and plans to seek medical assistance.
In an emotional address to the press, Bishop Wanjiru said, “I was attacked; my arm and leg are hurt, and I need to go to the hospital.
“My people have also been attacked; everyone is bleeding.” She went on to state that the assailants were identified as Railway officers.

The former Nairobi Gubernatorial candidate revealed that individuals pretending to be officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and the National Intelligence Service (NIS) had visited the Haile Selassie Highway property before the church’s demolition.
According to Wanjiru, men claiming to be dispatched by Kenya Railways descended on the church, started the demolitions, and forcefully threatened anyone who tried to stop them.
“I want to make it clear that this Weruga lane does not belong to Railways; this is our own investment, it is our church property,” she went on to say.
The destruction occurred following a Nairobi court ruling that dismissed a 2022 suit against the construction of a wall between Kenya Railways’ property and Bishop Margaret Wanjiru’s church.
The petitioners, which included Bishop Wanjiru Rhambai Patel, S&H Investments, and Soma Properties, had filed a lawsuit against Kenya Railways Corporation, Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS), and Kenya Urban Roads Authority, claiming that the ongoing development was limiting their access to Railway Lane, Exchange Lane, Weruga Lane, and Haile Selassie Avenue.

In response, Kenya Railways claimed ownership of the entire area occupied by Wanjiru’s church and surrounding houses.
According to Railways, allocations to certain assets were made arbitrarily and were detached from their ownership.
