Jowie Irungu Sentencing Rescheduled For Next Week

Joseph, also known as Jowie Irungu or Jowie, was scheduled to be sentenced on March Friday 2023, but the court postponed it so that he could find out by Wednesday of the following week.

Lady Justice Grace Nzioka issued the decision after determining that critical documents that could have helped the court reach a definitive verdict in the case were filed after the deadline.

Jowie, his former fiancée and co-accused, was cleared. Justice Grace Nzioka stated that Maribe was acquitted since the prosecution did not bring her to the crime site.

Jowie was scheduled to be sentenced by the High Court on Friday after being convicted guilty of killing Monica.

In her February ruling, Justice Grace Nzioka stated that the prosecution had shown beyond a reasonable doubt that Jowie murdered Monica Kimani.

“The death occurred; the cause of death was perpetrated by the first accused. It was not a homicide case, but rather an unlawful one. “I find Jowie guilty as charged herein of murder,” she said.

Justice Grace Nzioka stated that the prosecution had presented sufficient evidence and met the threshold.

“The person who killed the deceased did not plan to give her even a minute to live. “It is my considered opinion and conclusion that the perpetrator intended instant death,” she stated.
