Luke Shaw has committed his long-term future to Manchester United by signing a new four-year contract that will keep him at the club until 2027.
Shaw’s previous contract was due to expire at the end of next season, but United activated a 12-month extension in December. However, the club has now secured the services of the left-back until June 30 2027.
Luke Shaw’s form
The defender has been in impressive form this season, featuring prominently under manager Erik ten Hag and performing well both at left-back and centre-back.
Expressing his delight at the contract extension, Shaw said, “Nine years ago, I signed for this amazing club, and I’m thrilled to be extending my stay. I’ve grown immensely since coming to Manchester all those years ago, both as a person and as a player, and I know what is needed to succeed at a club like this.”
Luke Shaw keen to create
Shaw also highlighted his eagerness to work towards creating something special with the current management team. “We’re at the beginning of our journey under the manager and his coaching staff,” he said. “There’s a great opportunity to create something special here, and I’m going to give everything to be part of that.”
United fans will be delighted to see one of their key players commit to the club long-term, and Shaw’s impressive performances this season suggest that he will continue to be an important player for years to come.
