“The National Treasury will be safe under my hands” says Oparanya.
Oparanya has for the first time spoke about being appointed as the CS National Treasury under Azimio Government.
Kakamega County Governor Hon.Wycliffe Oparanya on Saturday speaking at Shivembe Primary in Butere Sub County during the burial service of the late Mwalimu Samson Mutuli explained to the crowd why he was appointed by Azimio coalition leader H.E Raila Odinga to be the cabinet secretary for the National Treasury under Azimio Government.
Oparanya who is finalizing his second term for Kakamega county was announced as the CS for National Treasury during the unveiling of Hon.Martha Karua as the Azimio Movement Deputy President.
He started by thanking Raila Odinga for offering him a top post in treasury.
“It is a great honour to me and the people of Western region to be offered the position of cabinet secretary for National Treasury in Azimio government.This should motivate the community to support Raila Odinga in the coming elections.
Oparanya also noted that the country needs a great change in economics sector and help Kenyans emerge out of suffering bondage which is brought by bad leadership.
He said that he managed to be picked out of many because of his experience,hard work,and ability to manage public resources.
“I was picked for the CS of National Treasury post,not because of my loyalty but because I have proved my capability to manage public resources for the years I have served in various leadership positions.Treasury will be safe under my hands.” stated Oparanya.
