Saint Anthony Boys: The School of Football in Tranzoia

  • Saint Anthony has dominated the Kenya Secondary School Games for more than a decade, winning the national championship six times.

Popular known as Solidarity Boys, Saint Anthony’s adventure began many years ago, thanks to their capable leadership, which has helped them to be where they are now.

Who exactly are Saint Anthony?

The School is in Tranzoia County, one of the home breeds of Kenyan football in Rift Valley. They have been able to acquire excellent talent, propelling the side to the Kenyan Premier League status.

Saint Anthony created talent

Lucas Maina alias Maish is one of the talents that Saint Anthony has developed. The midfielder played for Kibra Soccer Club of the third tier until being noticed by Ulinzi Stars of the premier league, where he presently plays.

 

Saint Anthony has also presented One of the greatest sporting events from the 2023 secondary school competition from the nationals all the way to the regionals. Players like Aldrine Kibet, Waswa, Kasavuli, and Javan Omondi have been outstanding. Aldrine Kibet, the team’s leading scorer, and Kasavuli have each received direct scholarships to educational institutions in Spain and the United States respectively.

Saint Anthony has been one of the most exciting teams to watch in recent years. They qualified for the East Africa Secondary School Games in 2023 by defeating Dagoretti High in the final and Shandereema Boys in the semi-finals. St Anthony, Dagoretti High, and Shandereema will represent Kenya in the East Africa School Games.

Following their dominance in the nationals, St Anthony are favourites from Kenya. The team will be hoping to win the East Africa championship events, which will be held in Rwanda.
