Parents Warned Against Outsourcing KUCCPS Application Process to Cyber Attendants

  • KUCCPS applicants are urged to seek assistance from Huduma centers rather than cybers.
  • This is to avoid sharing sensitive data with strangers

The process of applying for KUCCPS placement has become more convenient with the option to complete applications remotely using a laptop or desktop computer, as long as there is internet access.

However, there has been a concerning trend where some parents have opted to utilize cyber cafes for their application submissions, going as far as entrusting the employees at these establishments to handle the entire process on their behalf.

Unfortunately, this approach comes with inherent risks as sensitive and private data is being shared with unfamiliar individuals. To mitigate this risk, parents and students are urged to personally assess the program costs listed on the KUCCPS portal and seek assistance from Huduma Centres when needed.

It’s worth noting that the application process through centers located in schools has been discontinued. Previously, these applications were completed before candidates sat for their KCSE exams.

The reason behind this change is that KUCCPS now publishes program costs on a public portal, making it unfeasible to continue with the center-based application method.

What happens after submitting the application?

KUCCPS will open the platform two more times for review purposes and as a final opportunity for applicants to make any necessary amendments.

The KUCCPS system will evaluate the applicants’ performances and match them with specific cluster groups before making final decisions.

Who is eligible for government placement?

In the current cycle, only those who took the KCSE exams in 2022 qualify for government placement. Students who scored a C+ and above are eligible to apply for degree courses in both public and private universities.

Those who attained a C- are eligible to apply for diploma courses, while students who achieved a D can apply for a craft certificate.

The portal also allows individuals who scored D- and below to qualify for placement in artisan certificate programs.

Being included in the final placement list makes applicants eligible for government support, including scholarships, loans, and bursaries.
