Inspired by NyegeNyege festival, Sakaja announces Nairobi Festival

Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has announced that effective December 12, residents of the City will be treated to an annual Nairobi Festival dubbed the ‘Vibe of the City.’

Sakaja says the event will be a fun-filled fair which will be used to celebrate and display the City after December 12 Jamhuri Day holiday.

“In December, we will set aside some streets to display culture, food, creativity, have the nganya awards for the best done matatus, have rugby, football and basketball tournaments and many other activities,” he said.

Kenyans across social media were divided about the festival with some supporting it while others felt it will just be another opportunity to swindle public money.
