Stephanie Angela Wanjiku Kimani is a determined businesswoman who has a considerable list of achievements to her name, including owning a profitable enterprise at the age of 23. Stephanie graduated with a Bachelor of Business Science in Financial Economics. She passed the CFA level 1 exam in December 2015 and is currently a Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) level 1 candidate.

Diversification of Money Sources

Stephanie, who was always looking for new ways to make money, decided to boost her income by investing at the beginning of an entertainment company. BlaqSheek Entertainment was formed in 2013 by her desire to try her hand at entertainment by selling entertainment equipment such as PA systems. While she was still in school, this allowed her to bolster her income.

Thanks to her mother’s financial support, her business has grown tremendously, and she now has at least 5 different clients per month.

MultiTasking

She struggled at first to establish a balance between her studies, running a business, and extracurricular activities, but she persisted. She was committed to her work. She managed to find a decent compromise between the two without compromising either. She went on to say that managing all of her interests benefited her academically.

Desire to Live Exemplary Life

Her drive derives from a desire to be the best she can be in life; she credits her mother with inspiring, loving, and supporting her. Her ambition is to emulate her mother’s success, achieving far more than she did.

Peer support

Stephanie is passionate about societal advancement and coaching. Her coach, Ms Ann Njuguna, has helped her understand business and how to excel at it. Stephanie used her mentoring skills to coach two high school students in academics and life.

She also started paying for their high school tuition, and they are currently in their fourth year of high school, studying for the KCSE national examinations later this year.

Leadership

She is also the founder and chairman of the Rotary International-affiliated Nairobi Muthaiga North Rotaract Club. The club focuses on the professional growth of its members, who participate in a range of community service activities around Kenya. The Rotary Foundation designated Stephanie a Paul Harris Fellow, an honour given to those who donate to the Rotary Foundation.

Final Thoughts

Stephanie is the only child of a kind and supportive mother; she considers her mother to be her best friend, motivator, mentor, and biggest supporter. She has a lengthy history of great academic accomplishment, having won several awards and accolades.
