A Carrefour shopping bag with a lion image has brought mayhem in Meru. It made the villagers of Mutunguru -Igoji West in Meru county to run for their lives.
The villagers saw the bag and one after another started raising alarm over the presence of a lion in the area. They were convinced there was a lion in a hedge.
The residents reported the matter to the Assistant Chief, who informed the Chief who in turn called the nearest Kenya Wildlife Service station to come and handle the animal before it could cause harm to humans and livestock.
The Kenya Wildlife Service rangers were alerted and prepared themselves to capture the big cat. When they arrived on the scene they found it was a Carrefour lion branded bag.
