The Kenya Prisons Service (KPS) has officially announced an upcoming recruitment drive for male and female constables. This nationwide exercise will take place across all 47 counties on April 30, 2025, and is being conducted under the Ministry of Interior & National Administration.
No Room for Corruption or Forgery
KPS has clearly stated that the process is completely free. No money should be paid at any stage.
“Anyone found with fake documents or engaging in corruption will be disqualified and prosecuted,” the notice warned.
Who Can Apply? – Here Are the Requirements
To be considered, applicants must:
- Be Kenyan citizens with a valid national ID
- Hold a KCSE certificate with a minimum of D+
- Be aged between 18 to 28 years
- Be at least 5’4” (men) or 5’2” (women)
- Be physically and mentally fit
- Have good vision and a clean criminal record
- Female applicants must not be pregnant during recruitment and training
- Upon recruitment, candidates will undergo nine months of paramilitary training.

All interested candidates must carry these original documents:
- National ID
- Birth certificate
- KRA PIN
KCSE and other academic or professional certificates
Where to Report for Recruitment
Nairobi County: Nyayo Stadium, Kasarani Stadium, City Stadium, and several DCC offices including Gigiri, Pumwani, Mathare, Kamukunji, Ruaraka, and Njiru, among others.
Mombasa County: ASK Show Grounds, Likoni Approved Grounds, Kisauni DCC Office, Mvita Grounds, and Changamwe Oil Refineries.
Kisumu County: DCC’s offices in Ojola, Kombewa, Nyando, Nyakach, and Kadibo; Mamboleo Show Ground, Kenyatta Grounds, and Chemelil Stadium.
Nakuru County: Afraha Stadium, Gilgil, Njoro DCC Office, Naivasha Kihoto, Rongai (Kampi ya Moto), and others.
