Chance Comes Once in a Lifetime
Kanga is a long-coveted school in the region, and he was not ready to give up his chance. He proved that even a shortage of funds would not deter him.
Whereas other students arrived with shopping bags and other admittance criteria, Omollo could only manage a dictionary, Kamusi, and a pair of sports shoes—all of which had seen best times pledged that he wouldn’t be taken out school since he was there to study.
He also arrived alone, as he is a complete orphan. While others were being taken by their parents in lengthy lines to be cleared, he was with his metal box and made his way to the admittance block, all the while thinking about how unjust society was.
Humanity has its Word
Teachers in charge of admissions were speechless when they learned that the new student, who got 387 in the KCPE, was a complete orphan who was determined to attend school at any cost.
“Because I don’t have a parent, that’s all I could raise.” “Even the few books and shoes that I had were given to me by a neighbour whose kid had finished high school,” he told the Nation.
A neighbour also offered him money, and he used to buy the box and a relative paid for his school transportation.
“I don’t care about my past as long as I get the chance to enhance my education,” he stated.

Call for Assistance
Rueben Kodiango, Kanga School’s Chief Principal, stated the boy had been accepted and that they would give him necessities “until his school fee problem is investigated.”
He’s hopeful that a well-wisher will show up for the youngster soon.
“We will make every effort to accommodate him and give him the required learning resources.” Mr Kodiango stated, “Any good wishes that come in handy would be of tremendous benefit to this youngster.”
