St Helens: Dog bought a week ago kills girl at home

A 17-month-old lady has died once being attacked by a dog in her range in St Helens, police have aforesaid.

The lady died in hospital once the attack in Bidston Avenue, Blackbrook, at around 15:50 UT1 on Monday morning

Merseyside Police aforesaid her family were “absolutely devastated” by her death and had solely bought the dog every week past.

The dog was killed by police. Officers can do tests to visualize if it had been AN misappropriated breed, further as attempting to spot its previous house owners.

Det Insp Lisa Milligan said: “This could be a tragic incident and our thoughts ar with the child’s family at this devastating time.”

She added: “Whilst we have a tendency to ar within the terribly early stages of the investigation into this extraordinarily tragic incident we are able to make sure that the dog was solely bought by the family every week past.”

Anyone WHO witnessed something within the space at the time of the attack, or WHO has data concerning the dog, is asked to contact police.
