Google used its latest hardware event on Wednesday to unveil the Pixel 11 smartphone series, the Pixel Watch 5, and a new tracking device called Pixel Tag, while also showcasing a range of new Gemini-powered artificial intelligence features across its ecosystem.
The announcements underline Google’s strategy of combining new hardware with AI tools that are more deeply integrated into everyday device use.
A major part of the event focused on Gemini and other AI tools coming to Pixel devices. One of the most notable updates is an expansion of Live Transcribe to support American Sign Language, allowing users to use the Pixel Camera to translate sign language into text.
Google said the feature is designed to offer another communication option for people who prefer signing instead of typing.
The company also introduced a new voice-input feature called Rambler. Unlike traditional voice assistants that often require carefully structured sentences, Rambler is designed to understand more natural speech, including filler words, pauses and less organised conversation.
Another addition is a more direct Circle to Search experience from within the Pixel Camera. Users can identify objects, translate text, search for landmarks or ask questions about what they see without leaving the camera app.
The standard Pixel 11 arrives with a redesigned camera bar that Google says is more than 40% thinner than the previous generation. The camera area now uses an all-glass finish that stretches across the back of the phone.
Google is also increasing the base storage to 256GB, doubling the previous starting capacity.
The Pixel 11 starts at $899, which is $100 higher than the Pixel 10. Google attributed the increase partly to the removal of the 128GB model and ongoing pressure in the memory supply chain.
The phone will be available in Frost, Hibiscus, Pistachio and Obsidian.
The Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL place greater emphasis on durability. Google says the devices feature improved drop resistance and a new anti-scratch display coating that offers more than twice the scratch resistance of the previous Pro models.
The Pixel 11 Pro starts at $1,099, up from $999 for the Pixel 10 Pro.
Colour options include Canyon, Fog, Olive and Obsidian, with the Obsidian model receiving an all-matte finish this year.
Google also announced the Pixel 11 Pro Fold, which it says is nearly 10% lighter and almost 1mm thinner than the Pixel 10 Pro Fold.
The foldable features slimmer bezels, a 48MP main camera and 30x Super Zoom. Google has also redesigned the hinge and introduced a glass-fibre composite back cover to improve durability, claiming the new model is three times more durable than its predecessor.
Google’s new Pixel Tag is designed to help users keep track of items such as keys, wallets and luggage. The device connects to Android’s Find Hub network and can be located through the Find Hub app in a similar way to Apple’s Find My system.
The tag costs $29, while a four-pack is priced at $99.
Pixel Watch users can locate a tag from their watch, and Pixel Buds users can ask Gemini to ring or find a tag using voice commands.
The Pixel Watch 5 introduces several new health-focused features. Google says the Google Health app will provide monthly summaries of blood pressure trends and insulin resistance trends to help users identify long-term patterns.
The 41mm model starts at $399, while the 45mm version starts at $429.
Google also unveiled a Stephen Curry edition priced at $579, featuring a custom design aimed at fitness and workout users.
The event highlighted Google’s broader push to make Gemini a central part of the Pixel experience rather than a standalone chatbot. By embedding AI into the camera, watch, earbuds and phone interface, Google is trying to make its devices more useful in everyday situations.
The launches also intensify competition with Apple, Samsung and other major hardware makers as the smartphone industry increasingly shifts toward AI-driven features as a key selling point.
With the Pixel 11 lineup, Pixel Watch 5 and Pixel Tag now official, Google has delivered one of its largest hardware and AI announcements of the year.
