‘I Was Busy’ – Mudavadi Explains Why He Missed Ruto-Raila KICC Event

  • Prime CS Musalia Mudavadi skipped the UDA-ODM agreement signing due to a packed schedule.
  • He attended a Kenya Kwanza PG meeting at State House, where the deal was endorsed.
  • Represented President Ruto at events in Bomet and Kakamega.
  • Reaffirmed his support for the UDA-ODM pact, dismissing speculation of sidelining.

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has explained his absence from the UDA-ODM pact signing at KICC, attributing it to prior commitments.

“I had four crucial engagements, beginning with the Kenya Kwanza PG at State House, chaired by President William Ruto, where coalition legislators endorsed the UDA-ODM deal,” he stated.

Busy Schedule in Bomet and Kakamega

Mudavadi detailed his itinerary, which included a meeting at his office and two significant events in Bomet and Kakamega counties.

“In Chemaner village, Bomet East, I conveyed the President’s condolences at the funeral of Mzee David Kiplang’at Arap Kirinyet, father of Dr. Aurelia Rono, Principal Secretary for Parliamentary Affairs,” he revealed.

He later attended a thanksgiving service at Friends’ Boys School in Kakamega.

Firm Support for UDA-ODM Deal

Addressing speculation over his absence, Mudavadi reaffirmed his commitment to the agreement, noting that he had already endorsed it during the Kenya Kwanza Parliamentary Group meeting.

“I, alongside fellow MPs, gave our support to the MoU earlier in the day, and I stand by it fully,” he affirmed.

His no-show at KICC had raised questions, especially following the recent merger of his former party, Amani National Congress (ANC), with UDA.
