Tension between two East African boxing personalities spilt into the digital space after a fiery exchange during a live TikTok session on Wednesday, April 15, 2026.

Tanzanian boxer Karim Mandonga, popularly known as “Mtu Kazi,” went head-to-head in words with Kenya’s Portifas Odipo, alias Majembe, as both fighters built hype around a possible future bout.

What started as light talk quickly escalated into a heated back-and-forth that captured the attention of fans across both countries.

Mandonga, known for his loud and entertaining personality, did not hold back during the session. He openly warned Majembe that he would dominate him once they met in the ring.

He confidently insisted that he would fight while smiling and still come out on top, brushing off any suggestion that Majembe could challenge him.

The Tanzanian boxer also revealed his ambition to take away Majembe’s Vurugu title, saying he intends to bring it back to Tanzania. His remarks added fuel to the growing rivalry and raised expectations for a possible showdown.

Majembe responded almost immediately, refusing to be intimidated by Mandonga’s statements.

He warned the Tanzanian fighter not to underestimate him, suggesting that Mandonga had stepped into dangerous territory by calling him out.

Majembe also dismissed claims that his title could be easily taken, insisting that anyone who wants the belt must go through a difficult test in the ring before even thinking of victory.

His response kept the tension high, with neither fighter willing to back down during the live exchange.

The online confrontation did not come out of nowhere. Mandonga had already publicly challenged Majembe days earlier, signalling his interest in a potential boxing match.

In previous online remarks, he expressed strong confidence in his readiness to fight, saying he is prepared for any arrangement that would see the two face off officially.

With both fighters now exchanging bold statements, fans are eagerly waiting to see whether the talk will eventually turn into a sanctioned bout inside the ring.
