Kenya’s Harry “Kappa” impressed at the inaugural SportsBiz Africa (SBA) Esports Cup in Kigali, finishing fourth and pocketing $500. His strong showing has been hailed as a milestone for Kenyan esports on the continental stage.
The competition, played on EA FC 25 via PlayStation 5, featured some of Africa’s best players. South Africa’s Zaid April claimed the championship after edging out Africa’s top-ranked Xmozaa in a tense final. Uganda’s Aksam secured third place, while Kappa rounded off the top four with a performance that drew respect from fans for Kenyan Talent
Kappa’s success sparked celebrations among Kenyan fans and esports followers, who saw his finish as proof that local talent can compete with the continent’s elite. His breakthrough is also seen as a step forward for Kenya’s fast-rising esports industry.
