Interior CS Kithure Kindiki didn’t hold back during a meeting with over 5,000 elders in Embu. The event, co-hosted by leaders from the region, took a sharp turn when MP Geoffrey Ruku publicly asked Deputy President Gachagua to fast-track road tarmacking in Siakago.
Cabinet Is Not for Complaints, Kindiki Reminds Ruku
Kindiki quickly took the mic and addressed Ruku directly. He said that now that Ruku is part of the Cabinet, he should not be complaining in public forums. “You’re in government now,” Kindiki told him. “Bring solutions to the table, not problems.”

The Interior CS reminded his colleague that the flag he holds represents the President’s trust. “That flag is not a decoration,” he said. “It’s a sign of responsibility—handle it with respect.”
DP Gachagua Highlights National Market Projects
While the political exchange made headlines, Deputy President Gachagua earlier attended a church service in Meru where he gave updates on development. He revealed that 400 markets are being constructed across the country, with 14 set for Meru County alone.
Call for Unity Among Grassroots Traders
Later, the DP visited Ndumberi in Kiambu County. There, he met with mama mboga and boda boda saccos and urged them to support the Kenya Kwanza agenda. He encouraged the groups to work closely with the government to grow their businesses and benefit from ongoing projects.
