- Kenya Police Bullets will host Vihiga Queens on Sunday
- The match will be staged at School of Government grounds in Kabete
Vihiga Queens head coach Boniface Nyamuh believes his side will outclass league leaders Kenya Police Bullets when the two teams face off on Sunday in an FKF Women’s Premier League fixture at the School of Government grounds in Kabete, Kiambu.
Vihiga currently sit fourth on the table with 37 points, five behind Police. Ulinzi Starlets are second with 39 points, followed by Kibera Soccer Ladies in third with 38. Zetech Sparks complete the top five with 28 points.
Speaking to Kenyan Trend, Nyamuh expressed confidence in his team’s preparation and title ambitions, despite their current position.
“We’ve had intensive training ahead of the Police match, and the players are ready. We corrected the mistakes we saw in our last game against Kisumu All Starlets, which we won 4-2,” said Nyamuh.
He acknowledged the strength of their opponents but remained defiant.
“Police are a strong team, and as table leaders, they’ll be hungry for all three points to tighten their grip on the title, but we won’t make it easy for them,” he said.
Nyamuh still believes Vihiga have a shot at the title.
“If we win our remaining matches and Police drop points, we can still clinch the title. It won’t be easy, but we’re ready to fight until the end.”
The coach confirmed he has a fully fit squad available for the crucial tie.
“I thank God we have no injury concerns. All players who had knocks have recovered. Now, it’s up to us to perform on the pitch. I also urge our fans to show up in large numbers to support the girls, their presence is a big motivation.”
