Lawrence Njuguna was born in Kinangop on April 25, 1996. He is a talented mugithi musician who blends by the stage name DJ Fatxo. He also serves as the CEO and founder of ‘Dope Unit Entertainment.

DJ Fatxo’s music career began in 2020. During this time, he was working as the private Dee Jay for the rising Gengetone Crew ‘The Sailors Gang’ during shows.

He eventually entered the music industry, recording his first successful song, ‘Ndi Mang’aa’. A track that was well received by fans, propelling him to stardom. Ndi mang’aa, translated from the Kikuyu tribe language, meaning ‘I’m completely drunk.’

DJ Fatxo was named the best Benga musician in East Africa in April 2023, winning the Mugithi Artist of the Year 2022/23 award. Samidoh, Jose Gatutura, and Waithaka wa Jane were among the notable names in the list of those nominated. In terms of compositional originality, his style of music excelled the rest.

During this time, he was also being held in connection with a case involving his friend, Jeff Mwathi’s death. Dee Jay was found not guilty after a probe. when it was later discovered that his friend had committed suicide.
