Detectives have made progress in the investigation into the killing of Kasipul MP Charles Were. On Tuesday night, a pistol believed to have been used in his assassination was recovered from a house in Chokaa, a neighbourhood along Kangundo Road in Nairobi.

Items Linked to Prime Suspect Seized

During the operation, officers also found a bag and a pair of shoes believed to have been worn by the main suspect on the day the MP was shot. These items are expected to help investigators piece together more evidence in the murder probe.

Gun Tied to More Crimes

Forensic experts had earlier confirmed that the same gun used to kill the MP had been linked to at least three other crimes. The shootings took place in areas including Komarock and Kayole in Nairobi, and Ndumberi in Kiambu County.

Bullet Matching Led to Clue

The connection was confirmed after ballistics teams matched bullets retrieved from the MP’s body and the crime scene with other previous incidents. This has helped authorities narrow down their search for the killers.
