Safaricom PLC has notified the public of a planned M-Pesa system maintenance set for the early hours of Monday, April 7, 2025. The upgrade will take place between 1:00 am and 1:30 am, affecting the availability of M-Pesa services temporarily.
According to the notice released on Saturday, the upgrade is part of Safaricom’s continuous efforts to boost system reliability and improve user experience.
Services to Experience Brief Interruptions
During the 30-minute maintenance period, customers may experience brief interruptions when accessing M-Pesa services. The company stated that services will be available “intermittently,” meaning some users may encounter delays or unsuccessful transactions.
However, Safaricom clarified that essential services including voice calls, SMS, and internet access will continue running without disruption.
