Obinna Rejects Calls to Host ‘Migori James Bond’ After Viral Chopper Incident

  • Obinna distances himself from the man who clung onto his helicopter in Migori.
  • The media personality says he won’t fund a chopper ride for the man due to the high cost.
  • Obinna also declined to interview him, calling the move unproductive despite viral attention.
  • The viral clip sparked online buzz, with fans urging Obinna to give the man a platform.

What started as a bizarre stunt quickly turned into an internet sensation. A man from Migori shocked many after dangerously hanging onto a helicopter transporting media personality Obinna and his crew. Dubbed the “Migori James Bond,” the man was later arrested, and Obinna summoned to record a statement.

Netizens Demand a Platform

Soon after the video went viral, social media users began urging Obinna to invite the man for an interview and even sponsor a helicopter ride for him as a gesture of goodwill. But the celebrated content creator has firmly declined both requests.

Why Obinna Said No

Speaking out, Obinna explained that a helicopter flight from Migori to Nairobi costs around Ksh 600,000, a figure he described as unreasonable to spend for entertainment purposes.

On the idea of interviewing the man, Obinna was equally blunt. He stated that although the video might rake in massive views, the content wouldn’t carry any real value. According to him, it’s not the kind of story that deserves airtime on a major platform.

“Views Alone Don’t Justify the Platform” – Obinna

“It’s not just about views. You must ask yourself—what’s the takeaway? What do we gain, apart from laughs and clicks?” Obinna posed during a recent discussion.

As the dust settles, it appears the Migori James Bond will not be getting his 15 minutes of fame from Obinna. Despite the pressure from fans, the media star insists that impact matters more than hype.
