Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Hussein Mohammed has officially disclosed the ticket sales for the Harambee Stars’ 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Gabon, held at Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday, March 24.
Speaking at a press briefing on Tuesday, March 25, Hussein refuted claims that the stadium was sold out, clarifying that while Nyayo Stadium has a seating capacity of slightly over 22,000, only 22,900 tickets were made available. Out of these, 17,735 were purchased.
Revenue Collection
Hussein provided a breakdown of ticket sales, revealing that:
15,968 regular tickets (Ksh300 each) were sold.
Buyers have found 1,331 VIP tickets (Ksh1,000 each).
107 VVIP tickets were purchased.
329 parking slots were also sold.
The total revenue generated from the match stood at Ksh6,498,000.
Addressing Speculation
The FKF president stressed that the disclosure aimed to promote financial transparency amid ongoing speculation regarding ticket sales. His remarks reassured the public about the federation’s commitment to accountability in managing matchday revenue.
