- The Secretary General of Jubilee dismissed rumors that Gachagua had met the former President and said sorry. pointing to that it was all fake.
Jeremiah Kioni, Secretary General of the Jubilee Party, has denied claims that the retired president, who is also the party’s leader, met with Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Speaking on Tuesday, Kioni said that Kenyatta has not met with Gachagua and has not forgiven him because he has yet to get an official apology from Gachagua.
Kioni saw Uhuru’s allegation to meet with Gachagua as an attempt to gain sympathy.
“I don’t want to talk about the retired president [Uhuru Kenyatta], who is pleased that his name is not mentioned without meaning. And if you hear anybody strolling around Kenya saying that he asked for and received forgiveness, you should know that he is a person from the past.” Kioni acknowledged that Uhuru had not met any of them.
Kioni appeared to refer to the recent claims of the deputy president that they have sorted their disagreements with Uhuru Kenyatta, saying that this is not an apology and that it is hard for them to run to Kenyatta when things are going bad for them as they insulted him badly in the past.
“Did they seek for permission while assaulting him? Why are they involving him right now? “Don’t drag Uhuru into their mess,” he said.
However, the General Secretary of Jubilee confirmed that DP Gachagua cannot be impeached.
Kioni emphasized that the MPs did not have the votes to remove the deputy president as claimed.
