Citizen TV journalist Mashirima Kapombe has shared her reflection on the year 2023 and the important lessons she learned.
She noted in 2023 was the first year that she “grew up and felt like an adult” including making “very difficult and bad decisions”.
“When all the guilt ends… The first time I look at myself and see a 34-year-old young woman. 2023 is the year that I have grown and felt like an adult. I have experienced the grace and approval of God more than before. I have made difficult decisions and some very bad ones. I have learned to be grateful for the family… But most of all I have appreciated having both my parents there, strong and healthy all these years.
“I have appreciated my upbringing. I have seen myself what true love is by watching my father show us what it is “the best, the worst… In sickness and in health…” What it really means.” Kapombe wrote.
Kapombe looked back at the blessings of that year, she saw her experience “what it means to marry a good man and be a loving family” and jokingly said she would ask her sister for prayers that saw her marry a good man.
“I really appreciated my brothers @sidikapombe and the cheerfulness… and chaos of joy, the children bring home (cc. Kenga, Otis, Theuri, Nyawira, Nyadzua, CJ… The list is endless)
“I have seen for myself what it means to marry a good man and be a loving family through my sister and her in-laws. My goodness! @sidikapombe you have to give me the prayers you asked for.” She added.
She also shared the year 2023 made her know what true friendship looks like and seeing her admit it.
“I know what true friendship is. It has no noise but it is there and it is permanent (cc. Y’all know yourself ❤️).
I have accepted humility, kindness, forgiveness, acceptance are great, but not everyone deserves it.” Kapombe concluded.
