Nairobi Governor Johnstone Sakaja has taken a walk through downtown Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD) to check on its residents.

The governor expressed his admiration for the positivity and resilience displayed by the people of the city, despite the tough economic times caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sakaja’s Interactions

During his walk, Governor Sakaja interacted with vendors, shop owners, and other residents, listening to their concerns and offering words of encouragement. He emphasized the need to prioritize the well-being of Nairobi’s residents and to ensure that they have access to basic amenities such as clean water and sanitation.

The governor’s tour comes at a time when the city is grappling with the effects of the pandemic, which has had a significant impact on the economy and the livelihoods of many residents. Many small businesses have closed down, and the unemployment rate has risen sharply, leaving many struggling to make ends meet.

Despite these challenges, Governor Sakaja is optimistic about the city’s future and is committed to finding solutions to the problems facing its residents. He has previously called for the government to invest in infrastructure development, improve service delivery, and create job opportunities for young people.

“Walkthrough downtown CBD checking on my people. Despite tough times I’m always encouraged by their positivity and resilience. Truly we must make it work for them. Nawalombotov, ” he posted.

Nairobi Kenya

Nairobi is Kenya’s economic and cultural hub, and its CBD is a bustling center of activity, with vendors selling everything from fresh produce to second-hand clothes. The governor’s visit serves as a reminder of the importance of investing in the well-being of the city’s residents and the need to work together to overcome the challenges posed by the pandemic.
