The Kenya U20 squad has been in non-residential training ahead of the Rugby Africa U20 Barthes Trophy, scheduled to take place in Nairobi from April 22-30, 2023.
The 39-man squad, coached by Curtis Olago, includes seven returning players from last year’s third-placed team in Nairobi, namely David Mwangi, Mathias Osimbo, Felix Masega Chacha, Stanslous Shikoli, Laban Kipsang, George Otieno, and Makaya Brian. Zephenes Obwanga and Iddo Kuta, who were part of the 2022 training squad, are also in the squad.
Injured player
Team Manager Peter Mutai noted that Mathias Osimbo, who sustained an injury during a Kenya Cup fixture a few weeks ago, is being monitored, and a decision will be made on his participation in the coming days. The final squad will be announced closer to the tournament.
The Chipu training squad consists of forwards Raymond Chacha, Dennis Kisingu, Makaya Brian, Collins Ndambo, George Otieno, Mike Oduor, Mark Lubira, Jeremy Odhiambo, Gaylord Mgasi, Ogutu Wycliffe, Michael Jayson, John Asega, Ahona Victor, Andy Cole Omolo, Eugene Etale, Eugene Obat, Nathan Tsindoli, Laban Kipsang, Edmond Omondi, Jackton Omondi, James Asanga, Iddo Kuta, Stanslaus Shikoli, Vincent Omondi, and William Otondi.
