Kenyan President William Ruto has praised the African Union’s efforts to prevent, manage, and resolve conflicts in the continent, while urging countries to adopt a common plan of action to combat terrorism and related crimes.

Speaking after talks with the African Union Commission Chairperson Moussa Faki at State House in Nairobi, Ruto said that unity was essential for building a peaceful, secure, stable and successful Africa.

Ruto’s commitment

He also expressed his commitment to working with the African Union to push for a permanent solution to the current instability in Sudan.

Ruto’s comments come amid ongoing concerns about instability and conflict in several African nations, including Sudan, Ethiopia, and Somalia.

The African Union has been at the forefront of efforts to promote peace and stability in the continent, through initiatives such as the African Peace and Security Architecture and the African Standby Force.

However, the challenges facing Africa remain significant, with terrorism, extremism, and other forms of violence continuing to pose a threat to security and stability in many parts of the continent.

Ruto calls for common plan

Ruto’s call for a common plan of action reflects the growing recognition among African leaders of the need for greater collaboration and cooperation in addressing these challenges, and building a brighter future for the continent.
