He met Education PS Julius Bitok, who outlined government expectations. KLB reaffirmed its commitment to producing quality learning materials. Government aims to strengthen competency-based education and ensure equal access to books. PS Bitok praised KLB’s contribution to education reforms. Wanga Takes Over Leadership at KLB George Wanga has officially taken up the role of Chief Executive Officer at the Kenya Literature Bureau. His appointment became public after his meeting with Education Principal Secretary Julius Bitok on Wednesday, November 26. The meeting focused on the direction of the bureau and what the government expects under his leadership. Government Outlines Key Mandate PS Bitok stated that KLB remains a key pillar in the country’s education system, especially in providing learning materials that meet curriculum standards. In his statement, Bitok confirmed the bureau’s renewed commitment to quality. “KLB reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening its mandate of providing high-quality learning materials that support curriculum requirements and ongoing education reforms.” Focus on Competency-Based Learning The government is working to improve access to educational resources, especially as competency-based learning continues to grow. Bitok said that ensuring learners have the right materials remains a top priority. “As we continue enhancing the delivery of competency-based learning, our focus remains on ensuring that every learner has access to relevant, affordable, and high-quality educational resources.” He also thanked KLB for its continued contribution to the Ministry’s goals. “We appreciate KLB’s dedication to fulfilling its role within the Ministry and contributing to our shared goal of improving learning outcomes across the country.” Closing Statement Wanga’s appointment signals a renewed push to strengthen Kenya Literature Bureau’s role in curriculum support.
