Nairobi Gov. Sakaja Announces KSH 100 M Free ECDE Program ,Bursaries for Youth Education

Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has brought great news for the children and youth of Nairobi as he unveiled a groundbreaking initiative worth KSH 100 million.

The program includes a free Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) program, 3rd Term Bursaries for all the 85 Wards, and a KSH 31 million subsidy for Vocational Training Centers.

In an official statement, Governor Sakaja expressed his delight in providing these opportunities for the children and youth of Nairobi. The KSH 100 million initiative aims to ensure that every child in the ECDE Centers across the city receives education without any financial burden on their families.

Under the program, children attending ECDE Centers will not be charged any fees for their education, enabling them to access quality learning without any financial constraints. This move is expected to significantly enhance access to early childhood education and provide a solid foundation for the future academic journey of Nairobi’s children.

Governor Sakaja also highlighted the successful implementation of the 1B bursary program, which has seen the issuance of cheques for each school term at the Ward level. This program aims to support students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds by providing financial assistance for their education expenses.

Furthermore, the Governor assured the public that the School Feeding Program is on track for the Third Term, ensuring that students receive nutritious meals that contribute to their overall well-being and educational performance.

The KSH 31 million subsidy allocated for Vocational Training Centers aims to empower the youth of Nairobi by offering affordable and accessible vocational training opportunities. This subsidy will help bridge the skills gap and equip young individuals with the necessary skills for employment or entrepreneurship.
