Manchester United wins 2023/24 FA cup

Manchester United win their 13th FA Cup title after beating Manchester City 2-1 in the final of 2023-24 season of oldest football Cup in history. Manchester United last won FA Cup trophy in 2016 when they defeated Crystal Palace in extra time.
Manchester City, who came into the FA Cup 2024 final as favourites, did tried to make a comeback in the second half but failed to win back-to-back FA Cup title.

Alejandro Garnacho put the Red Devils ahead with a close-range effort in the 30th minute after a mix-up between City defender Josko Gvardiol and goalkeeper Stefan Ortega.

Kobbie Mainoo then doubled United’s lead nine minutes later with a clinical finish.

United had a goal disallowed just before that when Marcus Rashford slotted home but Garnacho was judged to be offside.

Jeremy Doku pulled a goal back for City late in the second half but United clung on to secure victory and avenge their defeat in last season’s FA Cup final.

The win means that the team, which finished eighth in the Premier League this season and 31 points behind champions City, have secured a place in the Europa League

The Red devils duo of Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo have recorded history after scoring against City in the FA Cup finals.The duo etched their names in the history books as for the first time in an FA Cup final, two teenagers found the back of the net.

Unfortunately,the win comes amid speculation that United manager Erik ten Hag is set to be sacked after a disappointing domestic league campaign.

Upto now,Arsenal is the leading football club with 14 FA cup trophies, followed by Manchester United which haa secured the trophy 13 times.Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham has 8 FA trophies in their cabinet.Man city and Aston Villa tie with 7 FA trophies.
