Kenya Police and AFC Leopards match suspended

After match official was struck by an object from the crowd, the Mozzart Bet Cup semifinal between Kenya Police FC and AFC Leopards at the Police Sacco Grounds had to be postponed. The game was postponed till Monday at the same location, but without fans, due to security concerns after more than 30-minute interruption. Tito Okello’s goal put Police ahead 1-0 just before to the game’s cancellation.

In the ninth minute, Kenneth Muguna had a chance to double Okello’s lead, but Opiyo stopped his strong shot from outside the penalty area. Two minutes later, Clifton Miheso’s left-wing freekick gave the Salim Babu’s coached side some trouble, but Brian Okoth cleared it for a corner kick.

Before halftime, Arthur Gitego had a chance to draw his side level, but with only Matasi to beat, he hesitated, allowing Musa Mohammed to react and block his shot.

However, the referee did not award a corner kick. Police took a narrow lead into halftime. The game had to be paused just before the hour mark after assistant referee Samuel Kuria was hit by an object from the crowd while flagging off Hassan Beja. This incident occurred after AFC Leopards made a strong start in the second half, pushing for an equalizer.

The winner between the law enforcers,Kenya Police FC and AFC Leopards will face KCB FC in a final match.
