Oscar Sudi, a Kapseret Member of Parliament, has now claimed that the looting and vandalism at his newly opened Timber XO club in Eldoret was preplanned.
Sudi claimed on Wednesday, June 26, that lawmakers from the Rift Valley region planned the vandalism. The UDA lawmaker denounced the move, stating he has never considered harming anyone’s property.
“I have never in my life intended to destroy other people’s property. My work has always been assisting those who do not have parents, as well as the construction of churches and other structures. “We know who organised it, and the leaders are from home,” Sudi explained.
The Kapseret MP also put a stop to all of his scheduled events, including fundraising and charitable functions, until further notice.
“I won’t say anything negative, but since it’s turned into something else, let me take a break and put everything on hold until later,” Sudi said.
He went on, “You destroyed the county and the places where people make development plans, and where people hold meeting business. It’s alright. I hope everything goes well for you”
Tuesday saw looting at the Timber XO club when an unidentified group marched from Eldoret CBD to the location and vandalised the gate, glass walls, windows, and doors.
The enraged youth also stole wine and other items of unknown worth. Photos shared on social media showing people taking costly liquor bottles from the club.
