Although many regard him as a joker because of his appearance in the parliament buildings, Hon Peter Salasya, the youngest MP in the National assembly, is a serious man when it comes to serving his people.

Hon Peter Salasya, in his first term in parliament, is already making big plans for his people. The lawmaker’s Digital Ajira project is expected to benefit a large number of youths in his constituency as well as neighbouring constituencies.

As Kenya’s population continues to grow rapidly, the rate of employment opportunities decreases. To survive the high cost of living, the majority of the youth are forced to engage in drug abuse and criminal activity. However, in Mumias East kaKakamega county, Hon Peter Salasya, their parliamentarian, appears to have found a solution to all of this. He has set up multimillion-shilling projects in the tech industry to benefit youths.

As technology advances, new inventories emerge, creating opportunities for young people all over the world. A number of Kenyan youths are turning to technology platforms as a source of income, earning large sums of money. According to Peter Salasya, youthful Kenyans earn more than kes 30,000. This is something he is now introducing to his constituents.

Salasya promised to work  hand in hand  with his constituents during his campaign. A promise that he is already working without wasting any time. Speaking to his constituents, the parliamentarian stated that he has already formed a team to teach youth how to make money in the tech industry. A platform that most young people have lacked in previous years.

The platform will recruit people with a passion for technology as well as those looking for a way to supplement their income. This includes, among other things, writing, blogging, web design, graphic design, web development, transcription, and online surveys.
The project, dubbed “Digital Ajira,” will begin on October 27, 2022. In addition, youth will be given free training as they prepare to enter the industry. One will be required to bring a laptop or smartphone, and the MP will provide free Internet access.
