Chebukati’s wife shortlisted for PS job in President Ruto’s government

Outgoing Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairperson Wafula Chebukati’s wife Mary Chebukati Wanyonyi is among the faces that has been shortlisted for the positions of Principal Secretaries by the Public Service Commission (PSC).

In a move that will raise further questions as to whether President Ruto and IEBC Chair Chebukati had a political affair going on, Mary Chebukati name made it to the list of 477 shortlisted names from 9,154 applicants, the PSC announced.

Other shortlisted candidates are President William Ruto’s political allies including Nixon Korir who lost the Lang’ata parliamentary seat to Felix ‘Jalang’o’ Odiwuor and Chris Wamalwa who was unsuccessful on his quest to win the Trans Nzoia gubernatorial seat.

A number of PSs who served under President Uhuru Kenyatta also made it to the shortlist.

The interviews for the vacant jobs will be conducted from October 12-22, 2022 and the PSC has invited members of the public to share their views on the candidates’ suitability. Names of successful applicants will be submitted to President Ruto for approval.
