UPDATED salary pay of cabinet secretaries in the Ruto-Gachagua administration

As President Ruto begins his first term in office, he has unveiled a list of his cabinet members with whom he would cooperate to ensure that his government delivers on the promises made to Kenyans.

Let us have a look at the salaries of a 22-member cabinet team, which will be led by former Vice President Musalia Mudavadi as Chief Cabinet Minister.

Salaries of Cabinet secreteries 2022

According to the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC), when outgoing President Uhuru Kenyatta gained power in 2013, Cabinet secretaries were paid a total of 1.06 million kenya shillings before being cut to 924,000 kenya shillings in 2017.

in the Ruto, Gachagua government, cabinet secreteries will be paid a total kenya shillings 554,400. They do, however, receive allowances on top of their present established wage by salaries and remuneration commission. Each cabinet minister would receive an additional 200,000 Kenya shillings in allowances.

There will also be a salary market adjustment pay of Kenya shillings 169,000 per month.

Cabinet secretaries receive medical family coverage, with a total of ksh 10 million set aside for this purpose. This will include 150,000 Kenya shillings for mathematics, 75,000 for dentistry, and 150 for optics.

The cabinet secretaries will also receive a modernized car to facilitate mobility throughout the country. The engine in the car will be no larger than 3000cc.

There are also ksh 50,000 and ksh 40,000 set aside for yearly leave allowance and mortgage payments.

Other allowances include a monthly airtime allowance of ksh 20,000 to facilitate communication

Before they may resume office, the list of the 22 cabinet secretaries will be presented to parliament for examination and vote.
