A a middle-aged woman’s hot chase for her cheating husband ended tragically as she crashed onto a tree and lost her life on Saturday, September 18.
The woman, driving a blue Toyota Highlander, lost control and veered off the road, landing on a ditch and against a tree.
The incident happened on Murtala Muhammed Highway in Calabar, Southern Nigeria.
“Though the woman was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, but she was said to have died few minutes later due to the injury sustained from the incident,” said area police.
A source who spoke to Nigeria’s Vanguard outlet that the woman sighted her husband leaving a shopping mall in the company of another female when she tried to block her husband’s car with the Toyota Highlander she was driving in.
The source said: “Her (the deceased) husband was said to have manoeuvred his vehicle out of the attempted blockade then took the Murtala Muhammed highway, with his wife in serious pursuit.
“In a bid to outrun her husband, she lost control of the speeding vehicle, veered off the road and slammed the vehicle on a tree, damaging the vehicle beyond repairs and also killing herself.”
