Meet Jonathan Musyoka, a 24-year-old college student who makes money by reselling the Company’s products.

Jonathan Musyoka’s story is inspiring.

His business’s creativity necessarily involves considerable risk-taking. And, of course, unlike many others, the Eldoret national polytechnic student did that well.

Who exactly is Jonathan Musyoka?

Jonathan attends the Eldoret National Polytechnic. Diploma in Information and Technology is currently being pursued. Unlike many other students, the hardworking second-year student pays his school fees through a side hustle.

Jonathan’s background.

Jonathan claims that his parents are from Kibwezi in Makueni county. He is the firstborn child of six siblings. Their father died when their lastborn was just six months.

The most difficult aspect of being a single mother was raising Jonathan and his siblings. Through her efforts, she was able to send Jonathan to college to pursue his lifelong dream and passion.

Jonathan, who started college in 2019, has faced many difficulties. Due to the circumstances, his mother could sometimes not afford to pay his school fees.

Jonathan believes he could struggle all the way. Sometimes skipped school and work as a tout to make ends meet. Though the money could not meet all of his needs, he could struggle otherwise.

By the time covid arrived. He decided to stay in Eldoret and hustle. He saved some money through God because he didn’t know what business to start.

“Kupitia njia za shida, nlifaulu kupata shillingi Elfu Saba kwa nia la kufungua biashara yenye hata sijafikiria. Wakati huo barabara zilikuwa zimefungwa ” Said Jonathan.

Jonathan showed no signs of panic, remaining calm until Covid transmission was reduced. Bans could also be lifted by the government.

Ideas were flowing when John’s mind opened at that point. This is when an idea came to him out of nowhere and he decided to give it a shot.

He was able to start his new business by purchasing products from Jumia, an online shopping website, with KES 7000. He devised a list that could total the amount of money he possessed. And eventually got around to it.

According to Jonathan, what drew him to the business was the fact that it does not require a licence or a physical location to begin with. You only need your items to begin supplying clients.

“Iyo biashara haina stress ya vitu mingi, you can order stufs na unaanza kusuply kwa interested clients” said Jonathan Musyoka.

How did he get away with it?

The hardest part of starting a business, as they say, is getting started. And that’s what Jonathan added to the risks.

According to our interview with Jonathan, the best thing he did to help his business succeed was to use online marketing platforms. He could pitch customers by posting all of the products in Facebook groups. Then, before delivering, agree on a final price. Some customers may wish to come to the store by themselves.

Some clients would even attempt to defraud him at first, but Jonathan never gave

That was never the case. With the little profits he made, he managed to gain returning customers and build trust, and he opened a small shop within Langas Eldoret.

As we speak now. Within Eldoret town, John has a product shop. Every month, he earns thousands of dollars.

Jonathan can pay his rent, help his family, and pay his school fees through the shop. According to him his nolonger looking for employment after school. Just focused on growing his business.

What a journey it had been for John. He made ends meet by taking the risky path.
