Ronald Karauri:  The founder of Sportpesa, who took a risk by selling his land to invest in the massive betting firm

Ronald Karauri is a Kasarani constituency resident who was elected to the Constituent assembly.

As a businessman, Ronald decided to take risks despite the odds and became one of Kenya’s most successful tycoons.

The former pilot revealed that he met a guy in a casino who told him about the idea before he could make it work. And is now fully generating millions of dollars.

Mr Karauri purchased a plot of land for KES 2 million and later sold it for KES 25 million to fund the Sportpesa project.

Ronald and his team founded the massive sports betting company in 2014, which generates billions of dollars from gambling.

Since its inception in 2014, the company has received significant sponsorship from football teams in both Kenya and Tanzania.

It progressed from the Kenyan Premier League to sponsoring teams such as AFC Leopards, Gor Mahia, Hull City, and Everton.

According to statistics, the gambling platform that has produced millionaires from their famous Mega Jackpot bonuses generates more than KES 50k per hour.

Ronald paid KES 2 million for his land, which he later sold for KES 24 million. The money allowed him to start his gambling business.

However, its operations in Kenya came to an end, forcing the multinational corporation to relocate to Tanzania, where it is still active today.
