FIFA suspends football activities in Kenya
Kenya was kicked out of 2023 African Cup of Nations(AFCON) qualifiers following the decision by FIFA to suspend the country from footballing activities; meaning despite winning the domestic league the club will not be able to participate in continental stage, CAF Champions league. This was following the decision by the ministry of Sports, through the Cabinet Secretary Ambassador Amina Mohammed to disband Nick Mwendwa and his team, and installing a caretaker committee instead. Moreover, Kenya failed to reinstate the disbanded FKF as well as failing to reopen the Kandanda House.
FKF issues after Nick’s reign

After the disbandment of Nick Mwendwa led team limited resources were reported. The Premier League clubs were pocketing Ksh 833,000 from BetKing and Startimes sponsorships while the National Super League clubs were promised Ksh 750,000 from Betika. These amounts were later scaled down to Sh 400,000 and Sh 300,000 meaning loss of the BetKing Premier League(BKPL) and BetKing Division One League sponsorships following Nick’s suspension and dismissal. Moreover, the FKF caretaker Committee had agreed to only provide Ksh 300,000 for each Premier League Club and Sh 250,000 for each NSL club which was below the Ksh 2 Million that clubs requested to be able to operate at full potential.
