Spain giants Real Madrid have been announced as the new champions of the 2021/22 La Liga Santander season after beating Espanyol 4-0 at Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday evening.
Rodrygo, the man of the match placed the hosts ahead in the 39th minute by completing Marcelo’s pass before making his name again appear on the score sheet in the 43rd minute capitalizing on a defensive lapse caused by Espanyol defence making matters stand 2-0 at halftime.
The second half started with the 13 times European champions igniting their attacking mojo, with Spain international Marco Asensio tapping into the net after 10 minutes of play in the second half after an impressive play from youthful midfielder Edouardo Camavinga.
With six minutes of play remaining, on form Karim Benzema as usual hit the last nail on Espanyol making matters end 4-0, with Real Madrid clinch their 35th title from last season champions Athletico Madrid.
With Real being Crowned with the La Liga this season, this means Italian manager Carlo Ancelotti has won all top flight titles across the “Europe Big 5” leagues that’s England, Italy, Germany, France and Spain.
