President Uhuru Kenyatta is set to open Ulinzi Sports Complex officially on Wednesday April 13. The state of the art facility is built in Lang’ata army barracks and has a sports field and training center.

Ulinzi Stars currently playing in Kenya Premier League the country’s top tier football league will use the facility to host its home matches and for their regular training. This comes just months after Inspector General Mutyambai oversaw the groundbreaking of a football field which will host Police FC’s home matches.

Ulinzi Stars will play Tusker FC in FKF premier league match which will act as an exhibition match and will be attended by the head of states.

Kenyan sports have been facing a lot of challenges of late and this will be a great step even as the government is struggling to overtun the suspension that was imposed on Kenyan football due to government’s involvement in the operations of the independent football governing body FKF.
