Drama Ensues as Will Smith Smacks Chris Rock on Live TV

Rock compared Pinkett Smith’s shorn head to Demi Moore’s look in the 1997 film “G.I. Jane” while presenting the Oscar for best documentary feature. Rock said he couldn’t wait to watch alopecia sufferer Pinkett Smith star in “G.I. Jane 2,” prompting Smith to slap Rock on the stage.

“Keep my wife’s name out of your mouth!” Smith yelled as he returned to his seat.

Following the event, Smith won best actor for “King Richard,” and in a sad victory speech, he apologized.

Smith met with Denzel Washington in between the smack and his best actor award. “At your highest moment, be careful, because that’s when the devil comes for you,” the Oscar winner for “Glory” and “Training Day” advised Smith.

After suffering from alopecia, Pinkett Smith, Will Smith’s wife, shaved her head last year.
