Hon Mohamed Ali alias Jicho Pevu, a member of the national assembly from Nyali constituency, has been in the news for the better part of the, following reports that he has dumped deputy president William Ruto.

The information began to circulate after numerous popular hopefuls on the United Democratic Alliance ticket in Mombasa county apparently abandoned the party in favor of Raila Odinga. Mohamed Ali was said to have quietly joined Raila Odinga’s camp, according to the misinformed reports.

The Nyali constituency legislator has spoken out about leaving the UDA and joining Raila Odinga’s team.

The MP issued a statement on Twitter denying the reports and stating that he has not joined Raila Odinga as claimed.
