Both the Azimio la Umoja movement and the Kenya Kwanza Alliance, according to NARC Kenya chief Martha Karua, have renegade leaders.
Karua, who has been under increasing pressure to choose one of the two alliances before the August 9 election, claimed that both coalitions included persons accountable for increasing corruption and squandering of public funds in the country, which has stymied economic progress.
Karua was out campaigning for her NARC Kenya party’s gubernatorial candidate in Kirinyaga.
“Mimi nawaambia hizo team zote mbili (Azimio, Kenya Kwanza) hakuna team haina wezi, hakuna team haina wakora na hakuna team haina wachache wazuri(I tell you in both teams non lacks thieves, non lack con and both have few good individual)” she said.
Kirinyaga Woman Representative Wangui Ngirici, former Governor Joseph Ndathi, and Senator Charles Kibiru are among the politicians pursuing the Kirinyaga gubernatorial seat.
