Angry Uhuru Orders Team To Investigate Why Several Mount Kenya Leaders Decamped To UDA

President Uhuru Kenyatta has reportedly been angered by his advisers over their reports on the political situation in the Mount Kenya region.

 

This comes after prominent politicians from his Kiambu County joined Deputy President William Ruto’s wing on Sunday, just one day after President Kenyatta approved Raila Odinga’s bid for the presidency on August 9.

 

Leading candidates for the presidency on Sunday were Senator Kimani of Matangi, former Kiambu governor William Kabogo, Thika Urban Wainaina MP Jungle, Kiambu County Speaker Stephen Ndichu, former Ruiru MP Esther Gathogo and 30 Kiambu councilors.

 

Others who have recently left to join Dr Ruto are Embu Senator Njeru Ndwiga, Maragua MP Mary of Maua, Tharaka Governor Nithi Muthomi Njuki and his Nyeri counterpart Mutahi Kahiga.

 

The circles told Taifa Leo that the president had given one week to his colleagues to provide him with a report on the political situation in the Mount Kenya region.

 

The officers include Secretary of the Ministry of Homeland Security Karanja Kibicho, Jubilee Political Coordinator Nancy Gitau, Wachira Kameru’s intelligence chief, DCI Director George Kinoti and Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni.
